Abstract
In this paper, experimental studies regarding the oblique scattering of an incident monochromatic plane wave from circular cylindrical elastic shells immersed in water are conducted. Reflected signal and resonance spectra obtained at different angles of incidence α are analyzed first (α is the angle of the propagation direction of the incident wave with a normal to the axis of the shell). Then, a registration of resonance frequencies of the targets-essentially related to the reemission of Scholte-Stoneley waves- versus α varying from 0 to 35°, is carried out. Experimental results are discussed and compared to the known theoretical ones.
